Versailles, Music and Gardens

Welcome to Versailles

Hey everyone, when you think of Paris you think about the Eiffel tower, the Louvre, Montmartre,…and also about the famous palace of Versailles, click here to know more. The history of Louis XVI and the architecture of the gardens are truly a “Must see” if you come visit the capital. Versailles is not really far from the center of Paris, you can take the RER C (stops: Versailles – Château or Versailles Chantiers), if you want to know more click here. Before going to Versailles it’s better to check out the calendar for the events, the entrance for the gardens is free except when there is the Musical Gardens, check out the calendar before hand.

With my friend we decided to go on a Saturday, spend the morning in the palace (it took 1h-1H30 to visit the palace), eat in the gardens and spend the afternoon there to enjoy the music. We also took the Fountain Night Show with the fireworks at the end (reserved online, don’t forget to take your ticket with you, every saturday from June 18 to September 17 – 2016). The Palace of Versailles is divided by area and the visitors can follow a well-indicated path to discover the different rooms. My favourite room is the Hall of mirrors, couldn’t help but to spend 20 minutes there. Take some time to enjoy the view on the gardens.

After the visit, we sat on a bench in the garden and ate our homemade lunch (there is really nice shops on-site to eat and buy snacks). The concept of the Musical Gardens (2016: March 29 – May 17 and July 5 – October 25) is that you walk through the trees, copses and flowers to discover different fountains while listening to music (classical, like Jean -Baptiste LULLY). You have different paths that you can follow or you can just wander.

The Musical Gardens were really nice, the Gardens are so big and ther si so much to see. The gardens closed at 6:30 pm to preprare the the Fountain Night Show with the fireworks at the end. You can  also enjoy the Royal Serenade in the hall of Mirrors (buy it seperately or with the Night Show). The show start at 8:30 pm, we were surprised to see bubbles everywhere to welcome us. We also heard some music rising from the foutains. The Fireworks started at 10:50 pm and ended perfectly this awesome day !

I had an amazing day,  the palace, the gardens, the fountains, the musics and the fireworks. It was truly perfect. Always wear good shoes and never stop discovering. Travel well & Travel far !
