Ready for day 2 ?

One a thing we really are looking for while visiting a city is to go somewhere to have a 360° view on the city. In Stockholm we went to the City Hall (Stadshuset), it’s really close to the old town (Gamla Stan) and the Centralstation (see the previous post to have the subway map: http://www.livetravelbecrazy.com/stockholm-sweden-a-weekend-near-the-sea-part-1/ ). You can also go to the City Hall by taking buses 3 (Bus stop: Stadshuset) or 62.

Map City Hall

The City Hall is a symbol of the city of Stockholm and you can visit it from May to September. The 106 meters tower and the City Hall itself are open for visits. The Tower offers a 360° view on the city but you will have to walk up (a lift is available until half-way). The prices for the City Hall Tower are:

  • Adults: 100 SEK
  • Seniors (over 65 years old) and students (with a student card): 80 SEK

But if you want more information go visit the official website: http://www.stockholm.se/stadshuset. We only visited the Tower of the City Hall, we arrived at 10 am and there was already a lot of people. The view from the Tower is really breathtaking but we had to walk up for 10/15 minutes and we have a specific slot to go up, see the view and go down before the next group.

We took a walk around the City Hall to enjoy the garden, the view on the city, on Gamla Stan and the boats ! There is a lot of statues and hidden elements outside so open your eyes. When we left we were lucky enough to see a procession of old and new cars in the street. We didn’t move for at least 20 minutes. Enjoy !

After the City Hall we decided to visit two famous chuchs of Stockholm: Tyska kyrkan – Deutsche Kirche and the Stockholm’s Cathedral – Storkyrkan. The first one have two organs and a lot of stained-glass windows. The second one have a really rich decoration, full of details and historical facts.

The time run so fast when you have a good time. Thank you Stockholm I loved to spend some time, visit some places and sit on a terasse to enjoy the sun. See you in another travel !

Stockholm,  See you another day !
